Looking for a new adventure? You’ve come to the right place.
We're an Amsterdam-based team of 90+ (and counting) with 25+ nationalities amongst us! A varied bunch of Citizens of The World with a wide range of skills and hundreds of thousands of kilometers under our travel belts. And we have something important in common (other than our very well-worn passports): we want to change the way people travel.
And that's exactly what we're doing, with the travel app to plan, track, and relive trips in a smart and beautiful way.
Polarsteps has over 20 million users already, but, for us, this is just the beginning. We have big plans for the future, and so we need even more talented and enthusiastic people to help us on our journey.
Want to know more about us? Here you go.
We’re a small team, doing big things.
If you haven't seen our app yet, go ahead and check it out. You'll see that we care (a lot) about providing our users with a top-notch experience every step of the way, whether it is helping them to map out their upcoming adventure, troubleshooting whilst on the road or offering tips and trips when they are back and creating their Travel Book. For a Community & Support Specialist, this means working with users who love Polarsteps and love to share their adventures with loved ones.
As a support team we:
Are dedicated to our community of users
Lean on our experience as explorers to know what our travelers need
Like to do good and have fun while doing it
Remain human, speaking like ourselves (we’re human and not AI!) in order to create genuine relationships with our community.
We’re looking for a student who is studying in Amsterdam to join us for flexible hours each week. This is a chance to see close-up what life in a startup/scaleup is like, and to join a team building one of world’s most ambitious consumer brands. This will provide valuable experience and insight for anyone who wants to go into tech/startup life. In 10 years, we think you’ll be proud to say you worked at Polarsteps back when it was just taking off and was under 100 people.
What your journey at Polarsteps will look like:
We’d love you to join us for 8 to 24 hours a week
Your starting date is July 13th, 2026. In your first month, you’ll be joining in-person onboarding sessions at our Amsterdam office, this is the best way to get to know the team and how everything works!
After you’ve completed your onboarding and training, we’d like to see you in the office once a week on our team days (Wednesdays and Thursdays). The rest of your shifts will be flexible and can even be evenings/weekends if you prefer (once you are comfortable working independently).
Together with the rest of the Community & Support team, you will manage user questions and feedback, helping with queries about our App, Travel Books, Travel Posters & Gift Cards via email.
You will pinpoint, investigate, and escalate (when necessary) the issues our users report to us.
Internally, you will be part of representing our users' voice , communicating their feedback not only to our support team but also to the rest of the company.
What we’re hoping you’ll bring with you.
Ability to work 8-24 hours per week alongside your studies
Fluency in English and native fluency in Dutch and/or French
A love for travel. You don’t have to have travelled widely, but you need to love exploring, discovering and adventuring in the world
Experience using Polarsteps in your own travels, or following your friend's/family's trips
Outstanding written communication skills
Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
Being proactive, solution-oriented, and a fast learner
Ability to work quickly, with high attention to detail
Bonus points for:
If you are fluent in additional languages, such as German
Experience in a similar position or a customer-facing role
The option to join our Polarsteps team sessions and events, including internal strategy meetings/team gatherings, this will give you an insight into life at a fast-growing European tech scale-up
Monthly socials with our team if you’d like to join them
A discount for your own Polarsteps Travel Book every 6 months to relive your adventures
A MacBook to help you do your best work.
At Polarsteps, we believe the best products are built by people as diverse as the travelers using our apps! That's why we specifically encourage people underrepresented in the tech industry to apply for a role with us. Because we believe that diversity, be it age, race, sexual orientation, physical ability, ethnicity, or gender identity, makes both the world and the workplace better.
