🌍 Making Every Move Matter
At ViCentra, we’re on a mission to make living with diabetes easier, by designing simple, beautiful, and effective solutions that fit people’s lives, not the other way around. We combine technological innovation with human-centered design to empower people with more freedom, confidence, and life on their terms. Our values; Be Bold, Build Trust, Focus on the Customer and Deliver Excellence drive everything we create and every decision we make.
We believe that when ambition meets purpose, remarkable things happen. If you thrive in a space where ideas accelerate, challenges spark growth, and making a difference is the goal, ViCentra is your next great adventure. 🚀
👩💻 Your Impact
ViCentra is entering an important transition phase in its product journey. As part of our strategy key software components are currently being developed and prepared for submission by an experienced external partner. Once this phase is complete, ownership shifts fully back to ViCentra. As a Software Test Engineer, you join right at this handover.
Your impact will be in helping ViCentra build internal testing knowledge and capability for the long term. You will learn how our devices and software are tested in a regulated medical‑device environment and contribute directly to making that testing robust, repeatable, and maintainable.
You will start close to the hardware, testing communication between the insulin pump and Bluetooth connections, before gradually growing into testing the Kaleido App and other software components. Along the way, you will help ensure that what we ship is not only functional, but safe, reliable, and well‑documented.
🔧 What You’ll Take On
In your role, you will:
Execute and document manual software tests, clearly and accurately recording results.
Learn and apply existing software test protocols, understanding why tests are designed the way they are.
Contribute to building and improving automated tests, starting small and growing in complexity over time.
Begin with testing hardware–software interaction, including Bluetooth communication with the pump.
Gradually expand into testing the Kaleido App and other software components as the product ecosystem evolves.
Identify, document, and clearly communicate defects so they can be reproduced and resolved efficiently.
Collaborate closely with developers, testers, and quality colleagues — communication is key in MedTech.
📌 What You Bring
A bachelor's or master's degree (HBO/WO) in software testing, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
Experience or educational exposure to manual testing and test documentation, with an eagerness to work close to the hardware.
Solid programming skills in Python. Experience with test automation frameworks (especially Pytest) is a strong plus.
Ability to read and navigate C source code and understand firmware folder structures. Experience with Kotlin, Swift, BLE, wireless communication, or IoT is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, you enjoy working with different disciplines.
Professional working proficiency in English is required; as all medical device documentation is written in English and the company working language is English.
An outgoing, practical, and down‑to‑earth personality that fits a close‑knit MedTech team.
Willingness to learn, ask questions, and grow into responsibility.
